IT Communications

The Security, Privacy and Policy unit in the Office of the CIO is responsible for communications and public information on behalf of the CIO and the campus IT process.

IT News Services

The campus community is served by two closely related IT news services:

• iNews, a collection of IT news channels available in HTML, RSS, and email formats.
• Berkeley Computing & Communications, a semiannual newsletter published online and in print, presenting a digest of iNews articles from the previous six-month period.

The mission of these news services is to disseminate news about IT activities across campus, including news from the Office of the CIO, IST, ETS, the Library, Administration, and other campus units involved in IT projects and activities. Two primary audiences are served:

• The campus IT community: producers of technology who find value in keeping each other informed about current and planned projects.
• The general campus community: everyone on campus who is a consumer of technology.
