Presentation Abstract:

At Riverside, our central IT organization, Computing and Communications, has installed approximately 115 wireless access points (802.11b) across campus and we continue to add new ones as we see the need and when funding becomes available. During this presentation, we will show where we are now, how we got there, and what we learned in the process. We will talk about the hardware we chose, what we did about security, and how we promoted wireless access to students. We will show how providing wireless access exemplifies this year’s UCCSC theme of “Improving Life Through Technology”. Our ulterior goal for this presentation is to find out about how others have implemented wireless network access on their campuses.
