On May 5, 2021 over 130 staff from nine UC campuses and UCOP assembled virtually to discuss usability in software projects.
This workshop was the result of months of engagement between software teams and the Berkeley campus User-Centered Design group (UCD), a staff community of practice. UCD members offered their expertise and suggestions to interested project teams. The teams specified which usability topics to prioritize for their project. The UCD members chose which user experience (UX) methodologies to apply, and then performed a usability assessment resulting in a set of project-specific usability suggestions for each team.
Workshop agenda:
-
An overview of UX
-
Usability review of two software projects
-
Presentation on design systems from staff at UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC San Francisco
