A message from Larry Conrad, AVC-IT & CIO
I’m writing to invite you to our next One IT event, a picnic on May 22. The event is open to all campus IT staff, and all staff who work in IT units. The picnic is co-sponsored by the Office of the CIO and Educational Technology Services (ETS). Please join us to mingle and toss a frisbee!
All campus IT staff are welcome to come and enjoy refreshments. Lunch will be provided to the first 250 people who RSVP. Some chairs and tables will be available, but please bring a blanket if you prefer more of a real picnic vibe! What is One IT? In conjunction with the IT Leaders Program alumni at UC Berkeley, the CIO is sponsoring an initiative named ‘One IT’, which is a coordinated program of activities to help build IT community, allow IT partners across campus to engage with one another, and improve IT services coordination. We kicked off this program with an event in March sponsored by the Berkeley Law IT team.
The event on May 22 is being co-sponsored with ETS and we hope to see you there to join the conversation and meet IT colleagues from across campus. Expanding customer engagement and governance is one of seven key themes outlined in the Campus IT Action Plan. Critical to the success of many of our projects is building a better sense of community and collaboration and partnership across campus, and the belief that it’s in our collective self-interest to work more closely together to efficiently meet the needs of UC Berkeley students, faculty and staff.
The One IT initiative expresses the vision of building community, engaging with partners across campus, and improving IT services.
