Last Call: Sautter Award Applications + UC Tech Webinar Proposals

We are in the final days for getting Sautter Award Applications and your UC Tech webinar proposals submitted.

May 29: Sautter Award Deadline

The annual Sautter Award recognizes information technology projects that advance the university's mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care; and/or that improve the effectiveness of academic, business or administrative processes. Please review the program description for detail about the Sautter Award submission process. Traditionally the awards are announced in person at the annual UC Tech Conference. Because this year’s conference has been postponed to August 9-11, 2021, the five winning teams each will be asked to develop a short video about their project. The videos will be used to announce and publicize the projects. More detail will be provided once the winners are selected in July.

June 1: UC Tech Webinar Proposals

Due to the postponement of the in-person UC Tech Conference event in August 2020, the planning committee is currently working to coordinate a series of three UC Tech 2020 virtual webinars (see draft schedule here):

  • In August 2020, webinar on the UC COVID-19 response; topics to include remote working, remote learning, remote research, UC Health IT efforts, etc.
  • In November 2020, webinar featuring topics such as cloud, community and collaboration.
  • In January 2021, webinar featuring professional development, Women in Tech, diversity and accessibility.

Each of these webinars will be comprised of three to four 25-minute sessions ending in a moderated Q & A discussion. Please consider participating in the virtual webinars. The deadline for submitting proposals for all three virtual webinars is June 1, 2020

Lastly, if you already submitted a proposal and you are notinterested in presenting at a UC Tech virtual webinar event, uncheck the “Ready to Submit” button for your existing proposal (to put it on hold for Aug 2021). Keep in mind that the virtual sessions will be shorter in duration with a maximum of 25 minutes per session. We will reopen the call for proposals for the UCLA hosted UC Tech 2021 in-person conference during winter quarter 2021.
