Dear One IT Community,
We are pleased to share that Google is introducing new chat management features for Gemini in Google Workspace that provide greater control over conversation history and retention. Temporary chats and conversation deletion features will begin rolling out to Google Workspace accounts starting June 21.
These features are a welcome step to support privacy and risk reduction by offering more control over conversation retention and history management.
What's New
The following features will be available in the Gemini app beginning on June 21, and will roll out to Google Workspace accounts within 5-7 days:
- Temporary chats: Conversations started as a temporary chat are not saved to Gemini chat history, making this option useful for one-time questions or interactions that do not require a saved history.
- Conversation deletion: Individual Gemini chats or an entire chat history can be deleted, helpful for managing chat history and removing conversations that are no longer needed.
Please note that Gemini conversations will continue to be saved by default for 18 months, unless deleted by the account holder.
