Reminder: IT Project Management Policy Takes Effect Jan. 1, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

Early in 2016, I announced that UC Berkeley will implement a new IT Project Management Policy that will take effect on Jan. 1, 2017. If you have not yet read the IT Project Management Policy for UC Berkeley, please take time to do so.  

Policy Benefits

The IT project management policy has been designed to:

  • Improve the success of IT projects across UC Berkeley in achieving campus strategic goals.
  • Increase our capacity to deliver IT projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Support and strengthen the ability of campus staff to collaborate effectively on IT projects by sharing a common language and set of practices, thereby reducing project risk.

Training Opportunities

The Office of the CIO is providing $10,000 per year for three years to help reimburse project management training expenses related to the implementation of this policy. If you are interested, learn how you can apply for training funds.
