Reserve your seat: Telling Our IT Story Workshop #3

April 29, 2019

Dear Colleagues,

It is increasingly important for each campus department to be able to clearly articulate how their work supports campus customers and advances Berkeley’s mission. Telling effective and memorable stories is a powerful way to communicate the benefits that your IT services deliver. To help you cultivate your storytelling skills, the Reimagining IT program has been sponsoring a series of Telling Our Stories workshops:

  • Creating Stories for IT Services and Projects (March 19)
  • Creating Value Propositions with Your Customers (April 16)
  • Creating and Giving Effective Presentations (May 21)

Reserve Your Seat at Workshop 3

The third workshop, Creating and Giving Effective Presentations, will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr.  Student Union in Stephens Lounge. The workshop will teach you how to create and give engaging and persuasive presentations that are well-suited to the interests of your audience.  During the workshop, you will learn how:

  • To compose a story for your presentation that achieves both your communication goals and is well-tailored for your audience.
  • To create a presentation that quickly grabs the attention of your audience and conclude with an ending that they find compelling and persuasive.
  • To deliver your presentation in a way that projects relaxed confidence.

During the workshop, you will work in small teams of three to four people to create a short presentation. Also, all participants will have an opportunity to practice their presentation skills.

There is no charge to attend the workshop, but space is limited to 25 people. To register, please fill out the online registration form. If you need any additional information, please contact me by email at conhaim@berkeley.edu or by telephone at (510) 643-2255
