See you at the One IT Forum on Thursday featuring Library IT

April 6, 2026

Colleagues,

We hope you will join us at the One IT Forum this Thursday, April 9, at 2 p.m. Our CIO, Tracy Shinn, will provide updates, news, and announcements. Then, Library IT will share an overview of some of their current work and emerging initiatives, including support for public computing and technology in library spaces, digitization and digital collections, efforts to improve accessibility of digital content, and approaches to issues such as large-scale bot harvesting. The Library IT team will also briefly highlight a few areas where they are exploring new approaches, including AI-assisted image description. Presenters for this session include:

  • Carolyn Caizzi, Associate University Librarian for Digital Initiatives and Information Technology
  • Lynne Grigsby, Head of Library IT
  • David Wong, Head, Endpoint Solutions & Spaces Department, Library IT
  • Christine Huhn, Head, Digitization Services Department, Library IT
  • Daniel Schmidt, Head, DevOps and Enterprise Platforms Department, Library IT

This session is an opportunity to learn more about how Library IT supports research and learning, access and preservation, and to connect with colleagues across campus IT who are interested in these areas.

Note: Attendees must join the meeting via Zoom; phone calls will not be permitted.

Interested in hosting a future forum? Dates currently open to host include: June 11 and Aug. 13. Please email us at one-it@berkeley.eduwith your ideas.
