Updates on UC Accellion data breach

May 13, 2021

Dear One IT Colleagues,

We want to highlight some new information and resources the UC Office of the President (UCOP) has put out around the Accellion Breach.

UCOP, via Experian Partner Solutions CSIdentity, is starting to notify impacted parties directly via email. All emails will be sent directly from Experian. The emails will include unique individual codes that recipients can use to register for credit monitoring for those who have not yet done so. The old universal code will be retired.  PLEASE NOTE: If you have already enrolled in the free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services with Experian, you do not need to re-enroll

We recognize these emails may elicit questions from those we support here at UC Berkeley. Please direct any questions you receive to the UCOP dedicated call center available toll-free in the U.S. at (866) 904-6220 Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. PST; Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST. Members of the UC community may also send questions to communications@ucop.edu

Updates have been posted on the UCOP website here: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/data-security/accellion-notice.html where you can also direct those who are seeking additional information.

Thank you,

Jenn Stringer, Associate Vice Chancellor for IT and Chief Information Officer
Allison Henry, Chief Information Security Officer
