Thank you for presenting at IT Summit 2016: Building the Future of IT @ UC Berkeley. We are looking forward to and are excited about your participation. Below you will find some logistical information for your session in preparation for the summit which will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Student Union.

Birds of a Feather | 1-5 p.m.

Informal meetups on topics of interest and conversation related to the IT Summit's theme.

Logistics

  • Location: BoFs will gather in Stephens Lounge or nearby breakout spaces in the MLK Student Union.
  • Please see the BoF schedule posted outside Stephens for details on the day of the event.

Exhibit Hall & Poster Sessions | 1-5 p.m.

Poster sessions and/or table-top demonstrations showcasing examples of how IT colleagues and teams are helping to Build the Future of IT.

Logistics

  • Location: Pauley Ballroom East, 3rd Floor, MLK Student Union
  • We have reserved table space for you and your co-presenters.
  • Set Up Dates/Times: Monday, May 23, 1-4 p.m. and Tuesday, May 24, 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Presentation Date/Time: Tuesday, May 24, 1-4 p.m.
  • Special Requests: Items you requested in your initial proposal (e.g. power, easel) will be provided to you at your table except electronic devices such as projectors, iPads, laptops, etc. Any other presentation needs aside from those listed here the presenter will be responsible for providing.

Important Info

  • Please set up valuable material (e.g. laptops, projectors, 3D printers, etc.) just before your session time. Do not leave valuables overnight, since this is a public space. 
  • If you haven’t yet produced your poster, we recommend using posterpresentations.com and creating a free-standing trifold poster. Be sure to allow enough time for printing and delivery of your poster.
  • Please also email a PDF of your poster or other materials to Devin Jones at devin@berkeley.edu as soon as possible. We'll make these files available on our website for participants to access.
  • We recommend you assign co-presenters if you haven’t done so already, so you will be able to participate in other parts of the IT Summit. 
  • Print and bring at least 150 copies of any materials you’d like to give out.

Breakout Session Presentations | 1-5 p.m.

Presentation formats are flexible: panel discussions, open forums, and hands-on workshops focusing on innovative solutions that are being implemented at UC Berkeley.

Logistics

  • Locations:
    • Academic Senate Chambers, 5th Floor Eshleman Hall
    • Multicultural Community Center, 2nd Floor MLK Student Union
    • West Pauley Ballroom, 3rd Floor MLK Student Union
    • Madrone Room, 4th Floor MLK Student Union
    • Tilden Room, 5th Floor MLK Student Union
  • Presentation Time: Information about your specific presentation time and room assignments will be posted soon. Breakout sessions are being scheduled for the following:
    • 1-1:45 p.m.
    • 2-2:45 p.m.
    • 3-3:45 p.m.
    • 4-4:45 p.m.
  • Confirm the title of your presentation is the title you’d like to read on the program schedule by Thursday, April 14
  • Email your final presentation and any handout files by Friday, May 20Access IT Summit branded presentation templates
  • Each room will be set up with a podium, microphone, a laptop, and a projector. A room moderator and volunteer will be available for assistance.
  • Set Up: There is a 15-minute window between presentations. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your presentation for set up.
