Six policies and additional related documents define acceptable use of the University’s technology resources.* To promote ease of reference and to follow best practices common at other institutions, Berkeley IT invites you to review a proposed consolidation of these terms into a single policy. We have updated the campus Computer Use Policy to incorporate these terms of acceptable use and have renamed it, “Acceptable Use of Technology Resources Policy (AUP).”

To our campus community,

Last month we sent a campus-wide message to inform you of a necessary shutdown of our Data Center scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2024. After further consideration of potential impacts on campus operations, this planned shutdown will be moved to a new date to be determined in consultation with campus stakeholders. This work is required to support the campus research mission and to provide improved resilience for the Data Center to run on generator power during campus outages.
