The role of Berkeley IT in providing AI-related services is:
To enable access to broadly useful infrastructure, tools, guidance, and support;
To identify the emergence of AI features in existing IT services and surface related decisions;
To safeguard the values and assets of Berkeley;
To adopt AI responsibly and ethically in support of IT service functions, learning by doing;
To partner with unit IT teams, administrative and academic leaders to discover, evaluate, and, if appropriate, implement new AI tools, products, and services.
To collaborate with peer institutions, sharing knowledge and innovating together, when Berkeley can both contribute and benefit.
We aim to:
