Disaster Recovery FAQs

The following individuals have the authority to activate IT DOC and its Operation.

• DOC Manager / Chief Information Officer - or - appointed delegate.
• DOC Operations - The Executive Directors of affected services from Berkeley IT units CITI, ISO, CITE, and CAD.
• bIT DOC may also be activated by a request from the Events and Crisis Management Team (ECMT) or the campus Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Staff required to work in the DOC will be notified through the following process:

• Slack channel #active-issues in ucbpi.slack.com
• Slack channel #team_doc in ucbpi.slack.com
• xMatters application emergency activation protocol

Berkeley IT support unit(s) will be activated by DOC Response members via the xMatters application emergency activation protocol.

• Lupe Leon, Executive Director, People, Performance and Culture (PPC)

DOC Logistics & Finance

Once activated, DOC Operations will notify the following internal and external campus units via situation status report, email, text, and phone calls:

• Office of Emergency Management (OEM)
• OneIT partner teams
• Facilities Services
• San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) Data Center – Manager
• Information Technology Services (ITS) of the University of California Office of the President (UCOP)
