ReadyTalk Retirement FAQS

Q: What can I do if I want to keep my ReadyTalk account? Can I still use the account?

A: Once ReadyTalk is retired, any existing agreement with the University of California will end as will our ability to support use of ReadyTalk on the UC Berkeley campus. This support in the past has included both access to and billing support for ReadyTalk which will no longer be available. Any additional questions can be directed to Gladys Oddoye at glado@berkeley.edu

Q: What will happen to my ReadyTalk phone number/account?

A: Your existing ReadyTalk phone number will be transferred to your Zoom account automatically by the IST Telecommunications team unless you follow these instructions to cancel your account. Any residual balance on your ReadyTalk account will be billed against your ReadyTalk service.

Q: What happens to any recordings I have stored on ReadyTalk? How do I transfer those?

A: You can download your recorded ReadyTalk meetings to your desktop or mobile device then move the recordings to your preferred storage area such as Google Drive or Box.

Q: If my ReadyTalk account is automatically moving to Zoom, when should I expect my first billing for Zoom and what is the cost?

A: The first billing period for Zoom will be for the April 2017 fiscal month. Recharge details will be available for April in the BAIRS reporting system on May 1, 2017. Cost is $2.85/month (license and support fee included). View full pricing info for Zoom

A: Please contact IST Telecommunications at ccu@berkeley.edu if you have any problems accessing Zoom.

Q: I need to schedule an online seminar, how do I learn more about using Zoom?

A: Learn how to use Zoom on the  UC Berkeley Zoom Web/Video Conferencing website or you can join a Live Training session.
