Intersectional Higher Ed Disciplines

The NERCOMP Annual Conference is the place where our community of IT professionals, faculty, researchers, learners, and institutions come together to engage, network, and learn from each other’s experiences in advancing innovation and leadership in higher education. The NorthEast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP) partners with EDUCAUSE to bring together leaders in the higher education IT community from across the region.

Leadership Programs:

EDUCAUSE Institute: immersive programs for new or current managers and leaders. EDUCAUSE leadership programs help enhance your success as a current or future IT manager and leader.

MOR Leaders Program (formerly ITLP) For individuals who will play increasingly important management and leadership roles within information technology.

People Management: This series and certificate program is for everyone, from aspiring people leaders to seasoned people managers.

UC IT Leadership Academy: Prepares emerging IT leaders from across the UC system to become stronger, more effective leaders and agents of change.

Applied Intelligence Mentorship Program This eight-month virtual program consists of monthly modules or workshops, each addressing a different topic and requiring about twelve hours of commitment.

Cyber Leadership Program offers advanced leadership and collaboration training for UC leaders in security, privacy, legal, audit, law enforcement, risk, compliance, or public safety.

IT Leadership Program Provides the leadership skills so participants are prepared to advance in their careers and to support change within the UC technology arena.


Technical Courses: 

Cybersecurity

Entry-level cybersecurity training opportunities:

Google Cybersecurity Certificate - Entry-level, no previous cybersecurity experience needed. Courses are low cost through Coursera, and completing the certificate program will prepare students for the CompTIA Security+ exam.

ICS2 Certified in Cybersecurity - New certification program for IT professionals looking to transition into cybersecurity. Currently offering free online self-paced training and exams, certification prep courses are also available through the UC Berkeley LinkedIn Learning subscription.

Project Management 

Workshops, courses, and certificate programs to enhance or increase project management skills from beginner to pro.

UC Berkeley Extension Courses 

UC Extension offers Information Technology courses and curricula designed to teach theory and practical skills to enable you to change careers or advance in your current position. Classes are offered in the classroom and in multiple online formats to meet the needs of working professionals.
