To our campus community,
The University has consolidated relevant portions of six existing policies related to the appropriate use of technology resources such as the campus network, hardware, and other digital assets into a new Acceptable Use of Technology Resources Policy (AUP). This update aims to improve policy navigation and clarity and align with common best practices at other higher education institutions. It does not introduce nor rescind policy; changes were limited to eliminating redundancies, reorganizing content, and updating links, references, and terminology. The meaning and scope are unchanged.
The Acceptable Use Policy supersedes the “Computer Use Policy.” To learn more, please visit the policy webpage. Questions may be directed to itpolicy@berkeley.edu.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Tracy Shinn
