To our One IT community,
Due to the planned strike for UPTE on April 1, IT Client Services (ITCS) anticipates reduced staffing levels, impacting our ability to provide technical support to faculty and staff. Our ITCS team consists of primarily represented staff under the UPTE Technical Unit - TX. Please expect delays from the IT Service Desk, procurement, provisioning, and desktop support. We will prioritize urgent issues and respond as quickly as possible, but service levels will be impacted as follows:
- Service Desk phones will not be answered in real-time.
- On-site desktop support will be limited.
- The ITCS Drop-In Support Center in Dwinelle will be closed.
- Response times for remote support and callbacks may be delayed.
Urgent tickets will be prioritized but handled with limited staffing. To escalate an emergency technical need, please submit a ticket for IT help with a status of “Urgent,” and we will do our best to respond promptly.
Additionally, the effects of the strike may extend beyond April 1 as we work through the backlog of accumulated tickets.
