Don’t miss UC Tech 2022, celebrating 40 years of conversation, innovation, and collaboration, Aug. 15-17, 2022, hosted by UC San Diego

This event will be a hybrid conference with in-person and online presentations and associated events. In-person gatherings will be located at UCSD’s Price Center and will be capped at a limited number. More info on the location, parking, hotels, and transportation, are coming soon!

Submit Your Proposal

Proposals for UC Tech 2022 session presentations are now being accepted. This year’s theme is Shoring Up Connections: 40 Years of Conversation, Innovation, and Collaboration. Working for the last two years is a unique experience! If your proposal highlights how your particular tech has connected students, faculty, or research, it will take priority over other proposals. 

Submit your proposal now using this short Google form. The deadline to submit a proposal is May 1.

Program Tracks

  • Teaching & Instruction - EdTech, labs, maker spaces. Are you using or helping faculty use digital engagement tools (polls, micro-quizzes, peer tools) during their classes? What third-party tools are your faculty excited about?

  • Security & Privacy - Privacy dilemmas, HIPAA, CCPA, PMI (all the acronyms), enhancing security, hacker attacks, and recovery.

  • Culture - The way we do business! Examples: telecommuting workforce integration; business process design practices; staff mentorship strategy improvement. How do we keep our staff passionate about their work and what we can accomplish?

  • DX, UX, CX, and XP - Give us your experiences with design, users, and customers.

  • Future of Higher Ed - Where are we going?

  • Engineering - Application development! Examples: building, analyzing, tuning, testing, and documenting software; data management and manipulation; learning management and communication systems. What systems are being created to help UC?

  • Research IT - Research facilitation innovation! Examples: accelerating technology uptake and informing codes, standards, and policy; facilitating the mobility of researchers; and data transparency. How is research IT working in the UC system?

  • Health IT - Healthcare delivery and problem-solving! Examples: health policy impact on IT strategy; bioinformatics data handling; health data privacy. How are the lives of patients affected by IT?

New Awards Program

The UC Information Technology Leadership Council (ITLC) has announced an expanded UC Tech Awards Program for 2022. The program includes the long-standing Sautter Awards, which recognizes team projects, and five new awards to honor individuals or teams for outstanding contributions to technology at UC. Applications for awards are also due May 30, 2022. Visit the UC Tech Awards Program website for information on how to apply or to nominate individuals or teams.
