Status: Campus Wi-Fi Issues

August 25, 2022

Message updated on Sept. 8 as support options and number of devices connecting to Wi-Fi have changed.

To our campus community,

Despite our best efforts to stabilize the network for a smooth start of the semester, our monitoring of campus Wi-Fi has shown challenges in connecting during the peak times between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

We recognize that the ongoing issues with our Wi-Fi network significantly impact instruction and learning. We are working with our technology vendors to troubleshoot and mitigate these issues, and will provide ongoing updates on the System Status website

What is happening?

Over the past two days, you may have experienced issues with campus Wi-Fi connections and performance. With more than 39,000 devices connecting to Wi-Fi during peak times (update as of Sept. 8: 39,000 devices the first week of the semester grew to 55,000 devices connecting the second week), the system drops as many as 7,000 connections when the problem occurs.

Options for Getting  Wi-Fi Support

Beyond these system issues, some of you have experienced issues with connecting your device even when the system is working well. We are offering several options for you to get technical support if you encounter connectivity issues specific to your device:
