Congratulations to Abigail Ackerman, Adia Dawson, Clarissa Fermin, Diego Batarace, Donna Bilorusky, Eric Avila, Erick Nagano, Faye Snowden, Fred Honschke, Jimmy Morales, Jorge Solorio, Kathy Spaeth, Katie Goslin, Kris Beltran, Laura Tamberelli, Luz Alba, Orsolya Nadasdi, Oscar Ruiz, Simone Burns, Steven Herrera, Summer Scanlan, and Toni Ward for completing their Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification!

This achievement reflects their dedication to continuous improvement and commitment to enhancing our operational efficiency here at UC Berkeley.

The Yellow Belt Training Workshop, tailored for our UC Berkeley audience, provided an overview of process mapping and a comprehensive introduction to Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies. The program equipped participants with the skills to analyze and improve department processes. Throughout this journey, participants completed 11 hours of virtual training, engaged in a process mapping class, and selected a process within their department to evaluate. This hands-on approach allowed them to apply what they learned to real-world challenges and present their findings to their units. Members also joined the Process Champions Network, where they will continue to hone their skills.

Congratulations once again on this outstanding achievement!

By offering Yellow Belt certification, we aim to enhance the professional skills of our One IT community while fostering a sense of community and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. Lean Six Sigma combines Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve organizational processes, decision-making, and overall operational efficiency while reducing waste and costs.

The ultimate goal of implementing Lean Six Sigma is to deliver greater value to customers—in our case, the students, faculty, and staff of UC Berkeley. By educating our staff in this framework, we are not only enhancing our operational efficiency but also directly contributing to the university's mission of providing high-quality education and services.
