Campus departments may request a berkeley.edu hostname to point to a website built on an "onsite" hosting service. "Onsite" means that the hosting service is provided by a UC Berkeley department or service. Below is a process summary, and a detailed process description.
- Choose an onsite hosting service.
- Create and build the website.
- Request the hostname via the DNS Administrator, and provide the DNS information.
Requests for onsite hostnames may be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or via Telcat. Requests for hostnames in the berkeley.edu domain will be routed accordingly for additional vetting and approval.
