The Data Governance Committee, the most recent group chartered by the IT Strategy Committee to bring stakeholder governance to IT domains across the campus, held its inaugural meeting Thursday morning, September 22. Lisa García Bedolla, Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate Division, and Scott Seaborn, Campus Privacy Officer, co-chair the committee, which is charged with "providing strategic oversight of the management, access and use of one of the University’s most vital assets–its data." Their first focus will be on clarifying their scope and establishing principles for data use and management.
