We are pleased to present the FY24 One IT Strategic Plan. This year’s Top Priority Initiatives focus on expanding digital accessibility, supporting researchers and instruction, improving infrastructure, protecting and securing data, improving campus safety technologies, and honoring the diverse cultural aspects of our campus community. By creating our plan as a One IT Community, we ensure that our technology efforts are deliberate, coordinated, and aligned with the campus's strategic priorities. This process fosters communication, collaboration, and partnership among campus units involved in IT-related activities.
We must embrace technology and harness its potential to empower research, teaching, learning, and administrative processes. Technology is both an enabler and a driver of progress; it has the power to transform the way we operate as an institution. By collectively leveraging technology, we amplify our impact and enhance our ability to address the grand challenges of our time. This year we are thrilled to collaborate with several additional Units on the plan, including Berkeley Public Health; Berkeley Regional Services; Cal Performances; Office of Ethics, Risk and Compliance Services; People and Culture, Public Affairs; School of Journalism; Summer Sessions, Study Abroad, Lifelong Learning, and Extension (SSALLEX); and Vice Chancellor of Research Office (VCRO).
The plan outlines our priorities, defines necessary actions and investments, and establishes a timeline for implementation. Executing the Top Priority Initiatives will require strong leadership, effective governance structures, and substantial investments. However, the benefits are immense, and together, we can foster an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for Berkeley.
