Announcing new UX Program for Berkeley IT

January 11, 2024

Berkeley IT Colleagues,

We are happy to announce a new program focused on User Experience (UX). The Berkeley IT UX Program will engage with staff and teams in the application of UC Berkeley's nascent Usability Principles.

This program will build on best practices that are taught in UC Berkeley classrooms in the schools of information, engineering, and business.

Resources

  • Our UX Program Process - Learn about all the different ways you or your team can work with the UX program including training that is available, scheduling a quick UX assessment, and more.

  • For Project Managers - Working with UX will be new for some. To ensure program success, project managers must understand how to incorporate UX in their project's Development Life Cycle. The optimal moment is early in a project, ideally in the discovery phase.

  • Usability Principles- Our ability to efficiently and effectively meet UC Berkeley's institutional goals is dependent on having useful and usable systems and tools. By following these usability principles, we will be better supported in our shared mission.

If you have questions, please contact the program lead, Rachel Hollowgrass at rhollow@berkeley.edu

Rachel looks forward to working with you to help move us toward a more usable future.
