Dear One IT Community,
We are writing with important information regarding the end-of-life of Windows 10. Microsoft will end support on Oct. 14. If your customers are on the Berkeley Desktop or have the Berkeley Security Software installed and cannot update their systems to Windows 11 due to technical reasons, Berkeley IT has deployed an Extended Security Update (ESU) for them.
Note: For these Windows 10 machines to receive the ESU, they must be running the latest Windows 10 update, version 22H2.
Please help prepare:
-
Ask users to take action to upgrade their device to Windows 11 This upgrade includes important updates, new system features, faster performance, and built-in security.
-
Have them contact technical support for assistance. If the self-service process for upgrading to Windows 10 v22H2 or Windows 11 is unavailable on your user’s computer, we can help.
If you have any questions or concerns, visit our project website
Regards,
Windows 11 Adoption Project Team | Information Security Office, Berkeley IT
Remember, after Oct. 14, Windows 10 will no longer meet the Minimum Security Standards for Network Devices (MSSND) policy. ISO reserves the right to block any vulnerable device immediately, per the Blocking Network Access Policy
