Beginning July 5, 2023 new storage limits will be applied to all UC Berkeley Google accounts; however, only 2% of accounts will be impacted by the new limits. This fall, we will be working closely with those customers who need to reduce their Google content to make the process as stress-free as possible. Here are the next steps in the process:

By now, many of you have noticed storage limits on your UC Berkeley-provided Google accounts. These limits were put in place in January 2023 as part of the larger Google Cost Reduction Project. You can find your storage limit and usage in your Google account settings

This message is to inform you about a new network service requirement that was implemented at the end of March 2023. All new campus subnets need to be secured by either a bSecure Departmental firewall or the bSecure Shared Firewall service. In the past, selecting one of these services was optional when a new subnet was created.

Please join us in congratulating Jake Harwood on his promotion to Senior Information Security Manager. In this new role, Jake will have direct oversight of the Security Operations, Security Assessment, and Security Development teams. Jake will continue to report to me in this new role.
While we work to backfill the Security Operations Manager role that Jake is leaving, John Ives has graciously agreed to step in as Interim Manager.

To our campus community, We are writing to remind you that, per UC policy, all email communications regarding university business, including those of faculty, staff, and student employees, must be performed exclusively through the use of an @berkeley.edu email address.

It passed the bar exam, first with a mediocre score and then with a ranking among the top tier of newly minted lawyers. It scored better than 90% of SAT takers. It nearly aced the verbal section of the GRE — though it has room for improvement with AP Composition.
