Leaders from academia, government and industry met last week to discuss how AI will change the in-demand skill sets of tomorrow.

The Berkeley IT Information Security Office (ISO), working with a cross-campus group of IT professionals, has developed a proposed revision to the campus Minimum Security Standards for Electronic Information (MSSEI). The MSSEI defines minimum security standards for all UC Berkeley institutional information and IT resources. This update, the first substantive update since 2012, incorporates elements from UC’s systemwide Electronic Information Security Policy, IS-3, and brings the standards into alignment with current industry best practices.

“Student-to-Staff” is a series featuring stories from Cal alumni who are now career employees in One IT. This series was created to show the importance of investing in our student staff, and how vital their work is to the university and its mission.

California agencies will collaborate with UC Berkeley and Stanford University to study the impacts of generative AI on the state and its workforce, according to a new executive order signed by Governor Gavin Newsom today.
